'Buckcherry supported by Hardcore Superstar and Venrez'

The Ritz Sunday 17th February 2013

First on the bill was Venrez... Bringing their Los Angeles Rock symphony. Playing songs from their new album, it was solid opening performance considering they were closed in on stage, by all the other equipment on stage.

Main support was brought by Sweeden's finest rock/metal band 'Hardcore Superstar' who got the party really started playing songs from their 10 year history which can be found on their greratest hits 'The Party ain't over till we say its over'. The set started with the singalong 'Moonshine' and covered songs 'Into Debauchery' and 'Into the Casket'. This high energy set had the crowd singalong as the band refused to stand still. Jocke stood proud on stage, and sang 'Run to your mama', before getting fans on stage to drink Jaegermeister with the band on 'Last Call for Alcohol', and to complete the party they ended the set with 'We don't celebrate sundays'.

After the party had begun.... finally it was time for Hard Rock band 'Buckcherry'. In the past year, the band released confessions and also recently their best of. Unfortunately, our interview with the band had to be cancelled last minute but that wasnt to dampen our spirits. Buckcherry came on stage one by one, Xavier, Kelly, Stevie D, then Keith. Then just as the walk on music slowed, Josh swaggered on and it was time to begin. The band jumped into 'Lit Up' from the album the self titled album Buckcherry and the crowd erupted, and the boss (Marie @number1crazyminx) was in her element. Next was my personal favourite 'Rescue Me' from Black Butterfly, and everyone was singing along and partying with the band. It was a seamless display even with recent events for the band. It brought back memories of the live CD 'Live and Loud'. Josh and the guys were on fire. The crowd were hanging on every word from Josh between songs.

Next up in the set was 'All Night Long' which is another racuious party sing along. Then as the band interacted seamlessly on stage between 'Broken Glass' and 'Everything' they slowed it down for 'Sorry' fromthere album 15. Then Xavier counted them in for 'Dead' and then onto the classic 'Porno Star' from Timebomb. Xavier then set the scene for 'Tired Of You' which led the back catalogue to an end before the Confessions shone through. The first single from Confessions 'Gluttony' howled into the night time followed by 'Tears' and 'The Truth'. Then came to the moment, that people associate with these rockers 'Crazy Bitch' where we learnt a bit to much about Josh and a cat...but we wont get hung up on this. I think the security guard in front of us face said it all. The funky break downs in Crazy Bitch got the crowd screaming along and each member of the band got there moment to shine.

The encore comprised of what every Buckcherry fan is guilty of and that is 'Greed' and the party was rounded off with the latest single taken from Confessions ... 'Wrath'. All in all a rip-roaring tirade of hard rock delivered by the LA titans Buckcherry.

Even with the boss getting more of her Buckcherry sleeve drawn on by the band, the night ended perfectly, with a special thanks going to not only the band but to Warren, Bubba, T-Bone, and the rest of the Buckcehrry team 10/10 perfection!
